Fitter WelderPerforms a variety of metal fabrication and assembles structural metal products, such as framework for machinery, tanks, stacks, and metal parts for buildings and bridges according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints: Develops layout and plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal.Responsibilities:Lay out, fit, tack weld, pressure tight, test and repair to blueprint specifications all piping system, fuel tanks, or any other pressured vessel he may be assigned excluding all hydraulic cylinders.Lays out, fits, assembles, tack welds and straightens fabrications to blueprint specifications with the use of jigs, fixtures and/or instructionsVerifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape.QualificationsI. Basic Qualifications (Required)Education: 2 – 3 years of trade training and high schoolExperience: A minimum of three - five years practical experience is required.II.
