About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for the National Marriage Project, a role that is pivotal in directing the project's operations and advancing the understanding and strengthening of marriage and relationships in America. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of activities, including teaching an undergraduate course on marriage, relationships, and family life, managing day-to-day project operations, supervising research, and staff, and programming, as well as advising and coordinating student engagement activities. A key aspect of the role is to cultivate donor relationships and raise funds to support the project's mission. The Managing Director will also have the opportunity to shape national conversations about marriage and must be committed to the project's goal of strengthening marriage culture. Applicants for the Managing Director position should have a Master's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Ph.D., and at least 2 years' of professional experience. The role requires excellent communication skills, the capacity to be an effective teacher, and experience in managing an academic program or nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will also have the capacity to fundraise and a strong commitment to the mission of the National Marriage Project. The position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is contingent upon funding availability. The Managing Director will work closely with the Director of the National Marriage Project and will be expected to engage in academic leadership, teaching, and student mentorship.
