Office Engineer

Position Summary Mott MacDonald is seeking an Office Engineer to support water and wastewater construction projects in New York City. Responsibilities Supports all administrative actions of the Resident Engineer Office Engineer will be responsible for the documentation and processing of change orders, submittals, RFIs, NCRs, transmittals, and other project-related documentation Performs a variety of tasks in support of the engineering staff Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines May oversee work of junior-level technicians Monitors and controls field quality control surveys, materials tests and quantity calculations to verify construction contractors' progress payments Maintains Submittals and Request for Information (RFI) logs using software tools for the project Maintains document control logs Assist with the processing of Contract Change Orders (CCO) and resolution of CCO requests Maintains construction scheduling by evaluation of contract schedule submittals, attends weekly construction field meetings, and prepares a construction status report on a monthly basis Process Design Service Requests (DSR), survey requests, and material testing requests Qualifications Bachelor's Degree +4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education required New York City Department of Environmental Protection project experience Ability to clear a Motor Vehicle Check required Experience in water/wastewater projects as Office Engineer preferred Experience with other water/wastewater-related project documentation such as documentation and processing of change orders, submittals, RFIs, NCRs, transmittals preferred EIT qualification preferred Benefits At Mott MacDonald, our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, providing them with a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.
