Tax AssociateAs a Tax Associate at H&R Block, you'll begin a career in tax and client service through a hands-on, apprenticeship-style experience. You'll build your skills with training, guidance, and coaching as you grow. With support from advanced technology and a Client Care Specialist, you'll focus on reviewing each client's tax situation, offering clear advice, and building trust. This role is in-person and not remote.Partner with a dedicated Client Care Specialist who gathers client information, allowing you to focus on reviewing each client's tax situation and delivering a great experienceLeverage H&R Block's advanced technology to prepare returns while you focus on reviewing results, ensuring accuracy, and providing personalized adviceUse open-ended questions and active listening to understand client needs and identify tax savings opportunitiesRecommend relevant products and services based on client needs, questions, and unique situationsApply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance and resourcesContinue building tax knowledge through ongoing training to grow your confidence and ability to serve clients effectivelyBuild strong client relationships and support office goals through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approachRequired Qualifications:Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course 1Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environmentStrong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needsProblem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutionsComfort using digital tools and systems as well as AI-based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPTHigh school diploma / GED / equivalentPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldExperience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional servicesExperience using client discovery skills to understand needs and recommend solutionsAbility to work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periodsAvailability to work evenings and weekends during tax seasonWhy work for us:At H&R Block, our purpose is simple: to provide help and inspire confidence in our clients and communities everywhere.
