Job Description

Job Summary:
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic mammography procedures to produce high-quality images that assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. They work independently, demonstrating clinical expertise and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized mammography procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assess patient needs, explain procedures, and monitor patient comfort during imaging.
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including privacy and safety standards.
• Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure proper scheduling.
• Provide training or orientation to new staff members or students as needed.
• Adhere to all required certifications and maintain current licensure and credentials.

Qualifications:

• Hold ARRT (ARRT) certification and state license for mammography.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of relevant mammography experience.
• Possess proficiency in Epic or other electronic charting systems.
• Be able to work independently with strong clinical judgment.
• Maintain current certifications from AHA or American Red Cross in CPR/BLS.
• Pass background and work history verification, including any required background checks.
