Staff Accountant - Tax

Summary of Responsibilities The Tax Accountant position is an entry-level tax position that will assist in the day-to-day operations of the tax department, including compliance and financial reporting. Duties of Position Preparation of U.S., state and local tax returns for a wide variety of taxpayers, including individuals, corporations, partnerships, fiduciary, tax-exempt entities, and retirement plans. Assist with tax research, planning and consulting projects. Respond to or assist with responding to various tax notices. Assist with audits of tax returns. Assist with the clean-up of client prepared accounting records; including adjusting entries, book to tax adjustments, and other supporting schedules. Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding the status of projects and additional information needs. Ongoing development of an understanding of the tax laws and an ability to apply such knowledge to client situations. Become oriented to firm policies and practices. Performs other related duties as may be assigned. Essential Job Functions Working as a member of a team. Ability to keep track of multiple projects and due dates. Functioning under intense time pressure. Working overtime hours as required. Detail oriented. Contribute to a healthy, positive work environment. Other Functions Participate in the Firm’s practice development efforts. Assist newer staff and interns in performing their duties. Required Experience Less than 3 years of professional experience Educational Experience Bachelor’s in Accounting. Earned or in the process of earning 150 credit hours in order to sit for the CPA exam. Required Licenses, Certificates of Knowledge CPA, must be a member in good standing with the State/American Institute of CPAs Planning to earn CPA Questions?
