Assistant Project Manager

Location East Lyme, CT – This is a full‑time, on‑site opportunity where you'll work closely with project teams, field personnel, and clients throughout the project lifecycle. Note Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience in mechanical contracting or commercial, civil, or industrial construction. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Job Description Assist Project Managers with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and project execution. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders. Track project progress and provide updates to project leadership. Manage submittals, RFIs, drawing logs, and project documentation. Assist with purchase orders, subcontract setup, and change order management. Conduct jobsite visits to monitor quality, safety, and project progress. Support labor tracking, cost coding, budgeting, and forecasting. Coordinate project meetings and prepare meeting agendas and documentation. Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents. Assist with equipment deliveries, material procurement, and project closeout documentation. Collaborate closely with field teams to ensure successful project execution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. 1+ year of experience in mechanical contracting or commercial, civil, or industrial construction. Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or Autodesk tools is a plus. Interest in learning HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
