Position Overview:
An academic cardiovascular program in Huntington, West Virginia is seeking an Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiologist to join its growing cardiovascular team.
The position combines advanced heart failure inpatient and outpatient care with medical education, trainee mentorship, multidisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for clinical and translational research.
This is an opportunity for an Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiologist to combine specialized clinical care with academic medicine, teaching, research, and multidisciplinary cardiovascular care in Huntington, West Virginia.
Opportunity Highlights:
Full-time academic position
Assistant or Associate Professor appointment
Advanced Heart Failure inpatient and outpatient services
Multidisciplinary cardiovascular care
Primary clinical site with rotation across two hospitals and satellite locations
Weekend rounds approximately every 6th weekend
Cardiology fellows participate in weekend rounds
Teaching and mentoring of approximately 15 cardiology fellows
Teaching opportunities with fellows, residents, and medical students
Clinical and translational research opportunities
Collaboration with biomedical sciences programs
J-1 and H-1B visa sponsorship available

Clinical Responsibilities
Provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with advanced heart failure
Evaluate and manage complex heart failure patients
Participate in multidisciplinary Advanced Heart Failure services
Provide clinical coverage at assigned hospitals and satellite locations
Participate in weekend rounds approximately every 6th weekend
Collaborate with cardiology fellows and other cardiovascular specialists
Participate in ongoing cardiovascular program development
Academic Responsibilities
Teach and mentor cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students
Participate in formal and informal medical education
Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to trainees
Participate in clinical and translational research
Collaborate with multidisciplinary academic programs
Qualifications
MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Cardiology Fellowship
Completion of an Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology Fellowship
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
Eligible for Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology board certification
Full and unrestricted West Virginia medical license required at the time of employment
Ability to perform all essential job duties
