EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Combination of education, experience, and training acceptable. Knowledge of large quantity food preparation and health department standards of sanitary food practices. Valid Colorado driver's license.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary / Objective – Performs functions related to the preparation and serving of food in a school environment, and maintains clean and sanitary equipment and facilities. Essential Functions May be called to work at various sites daily; start and end times may vary by site. Prepares meals following standardized recipes, adjusting ingredient quantities accurately. Portions food correctly to meet Federal, State, and Departmental guidelines. Serves customers, maintains an orderly food service line, and operates various equipment used in food preparation or cleaning. Washes serving trays, utensils, dishes, pans, etc., and cleans/sanitizes kitchen work area and equipment. Assists in stocking storage areas with food/non‑food supplies following FIFO; assists in taking inventory. Accurately records beginning and ending food quantities on production worksheets. Ensures all safety and sanitation procedures are followed by self and staff. Attends training programs and workshops as needed. Work Environment & Safety High exposure to heat burns; medium exposure to cuts, bruises, and chemical burns; low exposure to other injuries. Must maintain cleanliness to prevent injuries/disease to others. May have exposure to fumes, odors, electrical hazards, and chemicals.
