With meticulous attention to detail, we ensure seamless integration of cutting-edge technology while prioritizing security and regulatory compliance.The Project Superintendent (PS) is responsible for managing the construction process for the project. They are assigned the authority to provide daily coordination and direction of the placement of work so that it is safe, within budget, on schedule, to the company's quality standards and to the customer's satisfaction. They are responsible for planning and scheduling activities, organizing trade partners and suppliers, deploying site equipment and interfacing with regulatory authorities. The PS will manage and coordinate the activities of a team of construction professionals consisting of area superintendents, field engineers, quality and safety personnel, craft, and trade partner representatives. This is a safety sensitive position.Key Responsibilities:Safety planning is to be included in all pre-job planning and considered foremost in the daily operationsAll project, governmental and company safety regulations and requirements shall be enforced by the PSThe PS, with the support of safety managers, drives Hensel Phelps' safety culture on the projectThe superintendent is responsible for all quality control on the projectThe PS works with QC staff and trade partners to ensure the highest level of quality is deliveredThe PS is responsible for the development and timely execution of the project scheduleThe PS collaborates with project staff and trade partners to develop, update and manage the schedule, and has overall responsibility for job planning and the development of logistics and site utilization plansJobsite equipment needs are planned and organized by the project superintendentMaintenance and the safe operation of equipment, including operator certificates and permits, are the overall responsibility of the PSCompany-owned equipment is coordinated with the corporate equipment managerDevelop, coordinate and supervise all company field work personnel on the projectThe PS sets expectations, trains and evaluates salaried personnel under their supervision, and is responsible for the hiring, development, performance and coordination of hourly field personnelMaintain the Book of 14 and project control systems to accurately portray current project status and forecast projectionsThe control systems are used as a guide to identify misalignments and implement a plan for course correctionDevelop and maintain relationships with the owner, architect, engineer and trade partners to ensure the highest level of quality and customer service is deliveredQualifications:A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction managementMinimum of 7-8 years' experience on large commercial construction projectsValid Driver's LicenseStrong communication skillsComputer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.Physical Requirements:Moderate Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type.The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity.Walking - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc.Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer.The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration.Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas.The person in this position regularly sits in a stationary position in front of a computer screen.Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions.Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements.Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights.Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch.Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist.Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.Occasionally exposed to high and low temperaturesFrequently exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.Education A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.Benefits:Hensel Phelps provides generous benefits for our salaried employees. Salaried positions (project engineers and above) participate in an annual bonus plan, subject to company and employee performance. Salaried employees (this is all salaried employees) are also eligible for a company cell phone or cell phone allowance in accordance with company policy. Further, salaried employees (project engineers and above) also receive either a vehicle or vehicle allowance in accordance with Hensel Phelps' policies.
