Accounting Intern (Spring 2027)

Opportunity As a co‑op/intern in the Annuity Finance organization, you will experience the day‑to‑day work of experienced accounting professionals. You will manage a small book of business and perform all core accounting functions—from posting journal entries to analysis and reporting—while working within a collaborative finance group. Flexible work arrangements are available, with defined in‑office days in downtown Cincinnati and the option to work remotely from home. Job Responsibilities Record a variety of monthly journal entries and review trial balances in the general ledger system. Prepare reports, schedules, and financial statements for management use. Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of processes and tasks. Assist with the analysis of statutory and GAAP financial statements. Develop a basic understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting guidance for the insurance industry. Compose analytical schedules and gather information for independent auditors. Perform routine clerical accounting activities to support the department. Participate in process‑improvement activities. Contribute to special projects as requested. Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in at least the 2nd year of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong time‑management and prioritization abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Ability to work a full‑time schedule of 40 hours per week.
