Program Assistant I

This position provides administrative and programmatic support to the Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives. The position provides internal and external customer support. Duties include providing general administrative assistance and support for the OMMIR, providing logistical support and preparation for meetings and events, synthesizes and disseminates pertinent information to internal staff and external stakeholders. Facilitates information sharing with internal and external stakeholders and partners. Customer Service and Support Position provides internal and external customer support. Answers incoming calls and emails, screens and directs calls, and takes messages. Prepares, provides and exchanges information with external customers and the OMMIR Director and other staff, and refers them to the appropriate resources. Website Management and Accessibility of Documents This position is responsible for the maintenance of documents on the OMMIR website pages in collaboration with the DCJ public information officer (PIO), including the addition of new material to the website, removal of old material, and the creation of new pages. Ensures compliance with digital accessibility regulations and requirements.

Information Sharing and Other Duties as Assigned Position receives, sorts and distributes inquiries and information related to missing and murdered individuals and subsequent investigations. Position may be asked to perform other duties to meet the mission of the OMMIR. Position performs other duties as assigned or requested by the OMMIR Director, Division of Criminal Justice Director, or their designees. This position often performs unusual tasks when the unique nature of the program requires it. This position acts as back-up support, when appropriate, for others DCJ positions performing similar tasks (e.g., an Administrative or Program Assistant on family leave, etc.).
