Quality Assurance Technician

Escalon, CA | Full Time | On Site

$28.00-$38.00 per hour, DOE

Talent Group LLC is partnering with a growing food manufacturing and agricultural processing organization in California's Central Valley to identify an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join its quality team.

This is a hands-on role supporting the Quality Assurance Manager and production teams in maintaining food safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation throughout the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, and experienced with food safety and quality programs. This individual will play an important role in day-to-day QA activities, inspections, testing, traceability, documentation, and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Food Safety
• Perform routine quality and food safety inspections throughout production and processing areas
• Monitor GMPs, sanitation practices, CCPs, preventive controls, and established food safety procedures
• Support HACCP, SQF, FSMA, and other food safety and quality programs
• Identify and document non-conformances and assist with corrective and preventive actions
• Assist with internal inspections, audit preparation, and ongoing audit readiness
• Support traceability exercises, mock recalls, and product tracking activities

Product Testing & Documentation
• Collect product and environmental samples for required testing
• Assist with testing and documentation related to moisture, microbiological results, aflatoxin, pesticide residue, and other applicable quality parameters
• Review and maintain QA records, inspection forms, testing results, and production documentation
• Verify that required quality documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained
• Assist with finished product specifications, quality standards, and release criteria
• Support hold-and-release procedures for non-conforming product

Customer & Compliance Support
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of Certificates of Analysis (COAs), lab reports, certifications, and other customer documentation
• Support documentation required for customer, regulatory, and export compliance
• Help maintain accurate quality information within ERP and QA systems
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure documentation is organized and readily available for audits and customer requests

Production Support
• Partner with Production, Sanitation, Operations, Logistics, and other departments to address quality and food safety concerns
• Communicate quality issues promptly and professionally to appropriate team members
• Reinforce GMP, food safety, sanitation, and quality expectations throughout the facility
• Assist with food safety and quality training as needed
• Perform other QA-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required
• Previous quality assurance, food safety, laboratory, or quality control experience within food manufacturing, agricultural processing, or a related production environment
• Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety practices, sanitation, and quality documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately maintain records and documentation
• Comfortable working in both office and production environments
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data-entry systems
• Ability to work independently while also supporting a collaborative QA and production team

Preferred
• Experience within tree nut, walnut, or agricultural processing environments highly preferred
• Familiarity with HACCP, SQF, FSMA, preventive controls, or traceability programs
• HACCP certification is a plus
• Experience with ERP or quality management systems, including Microsoft Business Central, is a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Work Environment


This is a full-time, on-site position based in Escalon, California . The role works within both office and food production environments and requires regular interaction with production and sanitation teams.

Schedule flexibility may be required during peak production periods, audits, or other operational needs.
