# Job Opportunity – NICU Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13 or 26-week assignment. Patient ratio 1:2-3. Three weekends per six-week scheduling period. Two out of three winter holidays required. 36 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• 54-bed Level III/IV NICU with complex patient population including extreme prematurity (22+ weeks), cardiac anomalies, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Comprehensive specialty experience required including high-frequency ventilation, iNO, therapeutic hypothermia, and tracheostomy management
• Epic EMR system with interdisciplinary team support including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy services
• Floating opportunities to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery within infant care scope
• Contract lengths available: 13 or 26 weeks with up to 40 hours approved time off (restrictions apply during first two weeks and around Christmas)
• Advanced equipment and technologies including ECMO, Arctic Sun cooling, and Drager ventilators

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV highly preferred
• Virginia RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (can submit with pending status)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Strong clinical competency in high-frequency ventilation, conventional ventilators, iNO, tracheostomy care, NIPPV/NIMV, CPAP/BiPAP, IV fluid management including drips, hemodynamic support, post-operative care, whole body cooling, IV placements, and lab draws
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:3 required
• BSN preferred
• References and Nursys verification required with submission
