QA TechnologistRedbarn Pet Products was co-founded in 1996 by lifelong friends Jeff Baikie and Howie Bloxam, who met as 12-year-olds on a hockey rink in Canada. As a family-owned business for over 25 years, Redbarn's culture is rooted in the belief that they are more than just a team—they are a family.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.The QA Technologist is responsible for inspecting, analyzing, and verifying incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality standards and compliance requirements.The duties listed below are essential. Other duties may be assigned as needed:Follow all Redbarn policies and procedures.Perform product inspections during the receiving and production process.Report any issues or irregularities to the QA Supervisor and QA Manager.Monitor and maintain calibration of all QA lab equipment.Monitor and maintain validation of scales and metal detectors.Perform audits.Prepare samples for submission to the micro lab.Adhere to FDA and USDA rules and regulations.Requirements:Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous work experience is a plus. An associate degree or some college with direct quality experience is preferred.Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills:Basic knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software is required.Other Skills and Abilities:Understanding of lab practices.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong time management skills.Other Qualifications:Must have good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills and be able to work well within a team environment.Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
