About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Chicagoland Chapter. The successful candidate will be a mission-driven leader with a strong focus on financial sustainability, fundraising, and external relationships. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization's flagship chapter continues to grow and deliver on its commitment to providing free, high-quality books to children in need. The Executive Director will be responsible for the chapter's budget, managing organizational priorities, and leading a talented team to ensure that revenue growth is effectively translated into programmatic expansion. The ideal Executive Director will be a visible leader in the Chicagoland community, with the ability to personally cultivate relationships with philanthropic, corporate, and community partners. This is a highly external-facing position that requires a development-forward approach, including the opportunity to build a more diversified development operation. The role also involves serving as the chief operator, overseeing the chapter's operations, and maintaining a strong focus on the organization's mission to support literacy and education for children in underserved communities. The Executive Director will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors to advance the organization's goals and ensure its continued impact.
