Step into a rewarding opportunity serving elementary students as a highly valued Speech-Language Pathologist on a contract basis in the Crowley area. This full-time, full-school-year position centers on supporting young learners across elementary campuses, with caseloads of approximately 70-80 students per site. You'll play an integral role in their communication development while exercising your clinical expertise and leadership skills.
This position includes a supervisory aspect, as you will guide and mentor SLPAs working at the elementary level. As an itinerant SLP, adaptability and strong organization will be essential as you travel between locations to ensure the highest standard of services. Experience within a school setting is required, making this an ideal setting for professionals passionate about educational impact.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Hold and maintain Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC)
- Experience working in school environments (elementary strongly preferred)
- Comfortable supervising and mentoring SLPAs
- Willingness and ability to support Clinical Fellows (CFs)
- Not a virtual/telehealth (Voco) position; onsite presence required
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech-language therapy to elementary-aged students in accordance with IEPs
- Supervise SLPAs, offering guidance and clinical support
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and other professionals for student success
- Accurately document and report progress
- Adapt to an itinerant role, efficiently serving multiple campuses
