• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in acute care; first-time travelers with 2 years of permanent staff RN experience accepted
• Patient Population: Medical-Surgical and telemetry patients, including post-op, sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, pneumonia, and some orthopedic and GI surgeries
• Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5-6 during days, 1:6 at night; CNA: 2 per shift, adaptable based on census
• Additional Requirements: Pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival

What You'll Do:

• Provide direct patient care and monitor vital signs for adult patients in a busy telemetry unit
• Assess patient condition, document findings, and communicate with healthcare team
• Administer medications, including IV therapies and pain management
• Support wound management, including JP drains, wound vacs, and hemodialysis care
• Collaborate with charge nurses, support staff, and hospitalists to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Support patient education and discharge planning as needed
• Float to other Med/Surg units as required, demonstrating flexibility and team support

What You Need:

• Valid Louisiana RN license or current RN license in state of home residence with eligibility to transfer
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong clinical skills including wound care, IV placement, and patient assessment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
