Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Pennsylvania license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. They allow self-scheduling and blocked schedules as long as needs of the units are met.

Unit Details: 2E MedSurg patient population includes MedSurg, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end of life, and some inpatient chemo; chemo volume is fairly low and the director and manager administer chemo. Current COVID patients are housed on one hallway of this unit and clean patients on another; you could be assigned to both clean and dirty patients at the same time. Remote telemetry patients are monitored by a monitor tech on the 3rd floor; there are no monitors on the unit, and nurses do not read strips. Drips include heparin and possibly MSO4 for comfort measures; no cardiac gtts. Uses Bipap, Cpap, and high flow, all managed by RT. The clinical manager acts as charge nurse and nurse manager Monday through Saturday and may take patients when the census is greater than 24. Nights have a resource nurse who takes a full patient assignment, and there are no CNAs on nights.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; weekend shifts are Saturday and Sunday for both days and nights. Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule. Holidays rotate with permanent staff.

Floating Requirements: Floating is only to other MedSurg units.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
