Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups using both standardized assessments and purposeful observations.
- Create tailored treatment plans that meet immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver one-on-one interventions focusing on essential areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to design effective care strategies.
- Provide essential education to patients and families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and peer consultation.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Proficient in evidence-based approaches for treating individuals across ages, with a keen understanding of developmental and acquired communication disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to modify therapy techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving capacity.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
