Role Title Managing Director, Strategy & Integration Reports To Michael Broschart, Executive Director Application Deadline June 26, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET Location Providence, Rhode Island What You’ll Do We are looking for a candidate who will lead the Rhode Island corps member program, including supporting the integration of Rhode Island’s state‑approved educator preparation program with Teach For America’s Corps Member Leadership Development Program. This role will also be responsible for integrating the regional strategy as articulated by the Executive Director with the corps program, including driving towards ambitious outcomes in teacher development, classroom environment, and student academic and social‑emotional outcomes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the job with the ability to translate big picture ideas into concrete action plans, manage leaders to ambitious results, and make strategic pivots supported by strong vision, rigorous analysis, and strategic reasoning. The goal of this role is to fully integrate RI’s ed prep program with the national corps member requirements, skillfully manage local Managing Directors, Leadership Development towards ambitious corps member outcomes, and make accelerated progress towards the region’s goal of doubling college and career readiness metrics in RI’s Four Core Cities. What You’ll Be Responsible For Lead the vision for the RI corps program, serving as the Regional Point of Contact and lead designer of corps member learning and development. (40%) Lead the vision, design, and execution of RI corps member programming, including regionally contextualized programming, summer Pre‑Service and Practicum, with a focus on corps member development, satisfaction, and retention. Serve as the regional lead for retention and urgent issues, proactively managing crises, such as school partnership disruptions and critical corps member situations, to ensure continuity, stability, and consistently strong corps member experience. Partner with the Senior Managing Director, Leadership Development, to co‑manage two Managing Directors, Leadership Development, in strategically implementing and adapting the corps member program model to the region’s unique context, aligning efforts with local context and advancing progress toward regional 2030 goals. Manage the Manager, Regional and Program Operations to execute on programmatic logistics, ensuring a corps experience that is coherent and consistent with organizational policies and procedures. Lead the vision for integrating the corps member program with Teach For America Rhode Island’s approved Educator Preparation Program, including serving as key liaison between the region and the Rhode Island Department of Education and Rhode Island College. (20%) Support corps member compliance with licensure, including supporting corps members in applying for licensure, tracking, and ensuring compliance. Lead organizational performance data and learning; track regional performance metrics, lead data reviews and learning cycles, and identify opportunities to improve programs and operations. (15%) Monitor corps member impact through an analysis of corps member feedback from surveys, as well as student achievement outcomes compiled from data‑sharing agreements and data from national principal surveys. Set goals in alignment with national and regional objectives and set a strategy and vision towards meeting outcomes. Strengthen internal culture and leadership capacity; facilitate leadership team collaboration, lead key team planning or retreat spaces, support clarity around roles, priorities, and decision making. (15%) Collaborate with the Managing Director, Partnerships & Network Innovation, to support corps member hiring and school and district partnerships. Collaborate with the Managing Director, Partnerships & Network Innovation, and Executive Director to support a portfolio of alumni in professional development, career development, and ongoing support and engagement. A Week in the Life A week in your life as the Managing Director, Strategy & Integration at Teach For America Rhode Island is dynamic and impact‑driven, blending strategic planning with relationship‑centered execution. You might kick off Monday by analyzing data from a recent professional development space, identifying gaps in corps member learning and development. You can leverage learning from this experience to design next month’s All Corps gathering. Throughout the week, you will collaborate cross‑functionally with other members of the Rhode Island Leadership team (the Managing Director, Partnerships & Network Innovation, and the Executive Director), as well as with the Director of Development. You will co‑manage Managing Directors, Leadership Development, discussing corps member growth and learning, and the strength of school‑based ecosystems of support. You may meet with the national Senior Managing Director, Leadership Development, to discuss overarching programmatic priorities and design, including discussing corps member communications, programmatic elements, and potential support structures. You might also meet with the Manager, Regional and Program Operations, to ensure logistics for a corps member training are all set. Midweek, you may meet with partners from the RI Department of Education or Rhode Island College to discuss specific elements of the corps member program, in compliance with state policies and requirements. By the end of the week, you are evaluating progress towards monthly goals and reflecting on how to improve training to ensure corps members are making accelerated progress in their classrooms. Your Experience Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in teacher development and programmatic design Strong management skills, with experience managing more senior leaders to ambitious outcomes Strong relationship‑building skills, especially with partners who work across different organizations or agencies Strong project management skills Expertise in adult facilitation and designing professional learning for adults, as well as coaching adults Effectively manages multiple workstreams by prioritizing high‑impact work, while remaining flexible and responsive to emerging needs and shifting priorities Deep knowledge of Rhode Island’s educational ecosystem and local education policies Deep commitment to ensuring that every student can attain an excellent education Deep investment in Teach For America’s core values and mission Willing to work occasional weekend or evening work hours Ability to work in‑person in Providence and the surrounding communities Preferred Qualifications Master’s in Education, Education Policy, or a related field Deep knowledge of Rhode Island’s educational ecosystem and local education policies Experience supporting novice teacher development Experience supporting young professionals Your Future Team In 2010, Teach For America placed its first 30 corps members in Rhode Island to support efforts in closing the opportunity gap in the Ocean State. Your Compensation Salary Tier A: $90,000 – $120,300. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
