Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Progressive Care RN – North CarolinaStart Date: August 3, 2026 Location: Asheville, North Carolina Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Rotating shifts; Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule period; No call; 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio; Day shift includes charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs; Night shift includes charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTsHighlights: - 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care unit specializing in CV surgery and vascular surgery patients- Manage complex post-operative cases including open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery, esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass- Telemetry monitoring with overflow medical cardiology patients including heart failure, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block- EMR system: Cerner; Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts- Hands-on experience with cardiac drip management, epidurals, chest tubes, tube feedings, and IV glucommander- Floating to stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed; Fast-paced, team-oriented environmentRequirements: - Active North Carolina RN license or compact state license- Minimum 1-2 years stepdown experience required- Telemetry experience required- ACLS and BLS certification required- Prior cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery experience strongly preferred- CVICU experience preferred- Team player with flexibility and ability to thrive in fast-paced settingsWhy It's a Great Opportunity: This role offers the chance to work with a comprehensive cardiovascular patient population in a supportive, team-driven environment.
