Current Wireless Solutions (CWS) is expanding its telecommunications construction operations across the Carolinas, and we're looking for an experienced Telecommunications Construction Manager to support our ongoing T-Mobile overlay and network modernization programs.
CWS is an established telecommunications general contractor operating across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast, delivering wireless infrastructure construction, network upgrades, equipment deployments, and integration support for major carriers and industry partners.
Our reputation is built on safety, construction quality, accountability, and getting the job done right.
We're looking for someone who understands telecommunications construction, knows how to manage crews, and isn't afraid to take ownership of what happens in the field.
This is not a position for someone who simply visits sites, takes photographs, and reports progress.
We need a field leader who can recognize poor workmanship, challenge unsafe practices, manage subcontractors, and independently drive construction activities to completion.
️ WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Construction Management & Field Operations
- Oversee multiple active T-Mobile telecommunications construction sites throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
- Supervise subcontractor crews performing tower-mounted and ground-based construction activities.
- Monitor construction progress, installation quality, schedules, and site readiness.
- Ensure construction is performed in accordance with approved drawings, scopes of work, and customer specifications.
- Identify and resolve field-level construction challenges before they impact project delivery.
- Coordinate materials, site access, resources, and construction prerequisites.
- Identify additional work, construction deficiencies, and potential change-order requirements.
- Provide accurate construction progress updates and communicate effectively with Project Management.
- Hold subcontractors accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and completion of assigned work.
SAFETY LEADERSHIP — NON-NEGOTIABLE
At CWS, safety is not simply another responsibility on a job description.
It is a fundamental expectation of every Construction Manager.
You will be expected to:
- Conduct comprehensive field safety audits and site inspections.
- Enforce OSHA regulations, customer-specific safety requirements, tower owner standards, and CWS safety policies.
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task plans, work permits, and site-specific safety documentation.
- Verify personnel training, qualifications, certifications, and authorizations.
- Monitor fall protection, climbing operations, rescue planning, rigging, and dropped-object prevention.
- Verify electrical safety requirements, Qualified Electrical Worker practices, appropriate PPE, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Inspect aerial lift operations, ladders, hoisting equipment, and other elevated work activities.
- Verify RF hazard assessments and appropriate safety controls.
- Identify unsafe conditions and enforce immediate corrective actions.
- Exercise stop-work authority without hesitation when unsafe conditions exist.
- Document safety deficiencies, corrective actions, and follow-up inspections.
- Escalate incidents, near misses, serious violations, and recurring subcontractor deficiencies.
- Support incident investigations and implementation of preventive measures.
We expect our Construction Managers to have the knowledge and confidence to challenge unsafe work, regardless of schedule pressures or who is performing the work.
Production is important. Getting everyone home safely is essential.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONSTRUCTION & TECHNICAL OVERSIGHT
The successful candidate must have strong working knowledge of wireless telecommunications infrastructure, including:
- Tower-mounted antennas, radios, mounts, and associated equipment.
- Ground-based telecommunications cabinets and equipment installations.
- Ericsson equipment and T-Mobile overlay deployment requirements.
- Baseband equipment installation and associated infrastructure.
- DC power systems, power distribution, and grounding.
- Fiber installation, routing, labeling, and connectivity.
- Equipment modifications, removals, and cabinet consolidation.
- Construction drawings, site specifications, and installation standards.
- Construction completion requirements and integration readiness.
You will work closely with Project Management and Integration teams to ensure installations are completed correctly and sites are ready for commissioning.
Integration experience is preferred, but strong construction knowledge and proven field leadership are essential.
SUBCONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT & ACCOUNTABILITY
Our Construction Managers are the primary field representatives of CWS.
You will be expected to:
- Establish clear expectations with subcontractor crews.
- Verify crews are properly equipped, qualified, and prepared to perform assigned work.
- Monitor workmanship, productivity, and compliance.
- Challenge poor performance and unsafe behavior.
- Coordinate corrective actions and resolve field issues.
- Maintain professional working relationships with subcontractors, customers, and internal teams.
- Ensure assigned construction activities are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
You must be comfortable having difficult conversations and holding crews accountable when expectations are not being met.
CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION & CLOSEOUT
- Complete accurate field reports, site audits, and progress updates.
- Maintain photographic records of construction activities and deficiencies.
- Verify completed installations against approved drawings and scopes of work.
- Coordinate redlines, installation photographs, testing documentation, and closeout deliverables.
- Track punch-list deficiencies and ensure timely corrective action.
- Confirm construction completion and communicate site readiness to the Project Manager and Integration teams.
- Support customer inspections, acceptance, and project closeout.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
We are specifically targeting experienced telecommunications construction field leaders.
Applicants must demonstrate:
✅ Minimum 3 years of proven supervisory or management experience as a Tower Foreman, Tower Supervisor, Telecommunications Construction Manager, or equivalent field leadership role.
✅ Proven experience directly supervising telecommunications construction crews and subcontractors.
✅ Extensive knowledge of tower-mounted and ground-based wireless telecommunications construction.
✅ Experience managing telecommunications site builds, modifications, equipment upgrades, or network modernization projects.
✅ Strong understanding of OSHA requirements, fall protection, rigging, RF awareness, and electrical safety.
✅ Demonstrated ability to conduct field safety audits, identify hazards, and enforce corrective actions.
✅ Experience overseeing multiple active construction sites and managing field schedules.
✅ Ability to interpret construction drawings, scopes of work, and technical specifications.
✅ Working knowledge of telecommunications cabinets, baseband equipment, DC power, fiber, and grounding.
✅ Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
✅ Ability to work independently and make sound field-level decisions.
✅ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic reporting systems, and construction documentation.
✅ Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout assigned markets.
⚠️ IMPORTANT — THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION
We are not seeking technicians looking for their first opportunity in construction management.
Experience solely as a Tower Technician, Tower Hand, or Installation Technician without proven supervisory responsibilities will not satisfy the requirements of this position.
We want candidates who have already demonstrated the ability to lead crews, manage construction activities, enforce safety requirements, and take ownership of field performance.
Previous field leadership experience is mandatory.
⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous T-Mobile overlay or Ericsson deployment experience.
- Experience supporting T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, or other major wireless carrier programs.
- Experience with Ericsson equipment and construction standards.
- Telecommunications equipment integration and commissioning knowledge.
- Experience with baseband installations, cabinet consolidation, and network modernization.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Competent Climber, Competent Rigger, or equivalent telecommunications safety qualifications.
- Familiarity with ANSI/ASSP A10.48 telecommunications construction safety standards.
- Experience conducting formal safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractor crews across geographically dispersed sites.
- Familiarity with construction closeout documentation and customer acceptance processes.
