Managing Attorney

Along with leading and developing the legal team, this person will advise teams across the organization and contribute to broader initiatives involving risk management, compliance, contracts, training, and legal technology.The Managing Attorney will still maintain a manageable litigation practice and provide guidance on more complex matters. Over time, the role will have the opportunity to become even more involved in department strategy, process improvements, and helping Legal take a more proactive role across the organization.What You'll DoSupervise, mentor, and develop attorneys while helping manage workloads across the legal teamMaintain an active litigation practice and step into more complex matters when neededDevelop litigation strategy and provide guidance to attorneys handling casesAdvise internal teams on legal risk, compliance, contracts, policies, and operational mattersReview and negotiate commercial and real estate-related agreementsTranslate complex legal issues into practical guidance for employees and leadershipDevelop training and resources that help non-legal teams better understand legal and compliance requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and department efficiencyHelp develop a more formal organizational approach to risk managementSupport the implementation and continued development of legal technology and contract management processesPartner closely with the Chief Legal Officer on department strategy and longer-term initiativesWhat We're Looking For xhyhwjd Active Massachusetts Bar admission requiredStrong hands-on civil litigation experience, including meaningful courtroom exposurePrevious experience directly supervising and developing attorneysAbility to independently manage complex legal matters and exercise sound judgmentStrong written, oral advocacy, and negotiation skillsExperience with contracts, regulatory matters, real estate, housing, or nonprofit organizations is helpfulComfortable working across both litigation and advisory mattersStrategic mindset with an interest in risk management, compliance, and process improvement
