Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck equipment – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Job PurposeThe Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. This role manages frontline employees, coordinates workflow, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise all employees in your department and manage the flow of productionAssure 5S throughout facilityFocus on improving product and process capabilityAble to coach and give disciplinary notices to employees when necessaryLiaison to Team Leaders on all Shifts (Coach, Lead, & Direct)Actively participate in all aspects of quality control as it relates to daily productionInvolved in problem solving and corrective actions related to production issuesVerify work standards / set up sheets, quality checkpoint sheets and all other production related documents are present at the point of use and up to date and employees follow them.Analyze repairs and scrap trends on daily basis and implement immediate and long term corrective actions to achieve yearly scrap goals and plant efficiencyMonitor vacation/bonus days and attendance of employees in your departmentUpdate and assess employee-training matrix at all timesLead and audit shop floor safety and training for employees in your departmentEducation and QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in manufacturing, management or equivalent preferred. 5+ years manufacturing experience preferred. 3+ years supervisory experience preferred. Forward thinking and self-motivated in continuous improvement production systems. Flexible to work any shift and willing to accept phone calls during off hours.Solution orientated with the ability to investigate and analyze data for problem solving. Project Management skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to think and act cross-functionally. Basic mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail focus. Ability to work in a fast paced, highly complex setting. New Product Launch experience preferred.
