Suburban Women's Health Specialists is a busy, patient-focused private OB/GYN practice seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our growing team.

Schedule

Schedule varies depending on physician assignment and clinic location.

Applicants must:

• Have reliable transportation to travel between our Elgin and Algonquin office locations.
• Be available to open the office as early as 7:30 AM .
• Be available to close the office as late as 6:00 PM .
• Be flexible with scheduling based on practice needs.
• Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position Overview

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and play an essential role in creating a welcoming, organized, and positive experience from the moment they contact or visit our office.

This position requires exceptional customer service, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced OB/GYN practice.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion.
• Answer high-volume multi-line telephone calls promptly and courteously.
• Schedule office visits, ultrasounds, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
• Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain referrals when necessary.
• Collect copayments, balances, and process patient payments.
• Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record (ECW experience preferred).
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories, and outside physician offices.
• Respond to patient questions and direct calls to the appropriate department.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Assist with general administrative duties to ensure efficient daily office operations.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous medical receptionist experience in an OB/GYN, Women's Health, Family Practice, or other busy medical office.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (ECW preferred).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish ) is a plus.
