Creative Home Ideas is seeking an experienced Ecommerce Merchant with a strong home textiles background and a proven ability to build assortments and select winning products.

\n

Home textiles experience is required.

\n

\n

The core responsibilities of this role are line planning and product selection. You will plan what each brand and category needs for future seasons, then evaluate and select the products and designs with the strongest opportunity to win in ecommerce.

\n

You will combine strong merchandising judgment with sales performance, ecommerce search trends, competitive assortments, pricing and consumer insights to build the right brand presence online.

What You'll Do\n

• Develop seasonal line plans for assigned brands and home textile categories.
\n
• Determine the right number and mix of products needed by brand, category, season, price point, construction, color and size.
\n
• Manage the assortment to ensure each brand has the right breadth, depth and positioning across ecommerce.
\n
• Review and select from products and designs created by our Design and Product Development teams, identifying those with the strongest commercial potential.
\n
• Use sales data, search trends, competitive analysis, pricing and consumer insights to guide line planning and product selection.
\n
• Build a pipeline of "headliners," products with the potential to become meaningful sales and revenue drivers.
\n
• Identify gaps where the available products or designs do not meet the needs of the line plan, brand or market.
\n
• Provide Design and Product Development with clear direction when new or improved products are needed to fill those gaps.
\n
• Partner with Content and Ecommerce teams to ensure selected products are positioned and presented effectively online.
\n
• Monitor performance after launch and apply those learnings to future line plans and product selections.
\n

What We're Looking For\n

\n
• 5+ years of merchandising, buying, product development or category management experience in home textiles.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in seasonal line planning and assortment management.
\n
• Proven track record of selecting, buying or merchandising commercially successful products.
\n
• Strong ability to manage an assortment across multiple categories, seasons and price points while maintaining a clear brand point of view.
\n
• Strong knowledge of home textile construction, materials, quality, color, pattern, sizing and pricing.
\n
• Ability to use sales, search, pricing, competitive and consumer data to make merchandising decisions.
\n
• Experience collaborating with Design and Product Development teams.
\n
• Strong product instincts combined with analytical and commercial judgment.
\n

Candidates may come from ecommerce or traditional brick-and-mortar merchandising backgrounds.

\n

What matters is your ability to demonstrate that you have built successful line plans and personally selected products and assortments that performed commercially.

\n

We operate in a test-and-learn environment. Not every selection will succeed. We expect our merchants to understand the results, learn quickly and use those insights to make better line planning and product decisions for the next season.

Success is measured by the performance of the assortments you plan and the products you select.

Location\n

This position is based in New York City and requires regular in-office collaboration with Merchandising, Design, Product Development, Content Marketing, and Ecommerce launch.
