Lab Analyst II (Environmental)

We’re seeking a motivated Lab Technician II to join our environmental laboratory team in Round Rock, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional to expand their expertise in analytical testing while contributing to accurate, timely, and high-quality results. This role combines hands-on sample preparation and analysis with instrumentation, data review, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is technically capable, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within a collaborative, quality-focused laboratory team. What You’ll Do Perform sample preparation, analytical testing, and quality control activities in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and regulatory requirements Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment, including routine preventive maintenance Review and interpret analytical data, perform calculations, and investigate or elevate discrepancies, unusual findings, and out-of-control conditions Maintain accurate laboratory records, enter results in LIMS, and prepare reports as required Collaborate with team members and management to prioritize workloads, meet turnaround expectations, and support cross-training Contribute to audits, corrective actions, SOP revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain a clean, organized, and well-supplied laboratory, including glassware, inventory, and equipment Perform additional duties as assigned What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline 2+ years of professional hands-on analytical laboratory experience, preferably within environmental testing Demonstrated experience with analytical instrumentation, standardized test methods, and interpretation of analytical data across multiple techniques What We Offer Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Employer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays Paid parental leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Work Schedule Full-time, on-site position Ability to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as required to meet client or workload needs Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
