Travel Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Women's Services - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: - STABLE - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - BLS (Basic Life Support) Must-Have: - Experience in Level II NICU - Ability to attend deliveries and stabilize newborns - Experience with c-sections as a delivery nurse Description: The department is a Level II NICU with 8 private suites. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3. Common diagnoses include respiratory distress, feeders and growers, hypoglycemia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. Candidates must have experience in stabilizing newborns and conducting assessments. Nurses attend all c-sections, including scheduled, urgent, and emergent. No titration of drips is required in this unit. A charge nurse oversees the department, including LDRP and NICU. Resource nurses support stabilization of NICU admissions and attend high-risk deliveries. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) assist in both LDRP and NICU. There is a Neonatologist and a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner available 24/7. Continuous monitoring is conducted via a centralized system. Shifts are organized from 7 PM to 7 AM with resource and charge nurse coverage provided. Travel staff will fill scheduling gaps, but block scheduling is not guaranteed. Weekend and holiday work may be required based on unit needs. There is no on-call or standby requirement for this position. Travel staff may float to other sites as needed. Hospital-issued scrubs are provided, and all staff are required to change in and out of them. Traveling pairs should have two vehicles, as assignments may vary by location. A no fingernail lacquer policy is enforced in this department to maintain infection control standards. Candidates must be outside of a specified radius from the facility to qualify.
