NC Programmer – Aerospace
We’re looking for an experienced NC Programmer to develop and optimize CNC programs for complex aerospace components, primarily using 3- and 5-axis machines . The ideal candidate has strong CATIA V5 and Vericut experience and understands aerospace machining, GD&T, and manufacturing requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Create, verify, and revise NC programs, machine control data, tooling geometry, and setup documentation .
- Program complex aluminum and hard-metal aerospace parts using CATIA V5 .
- Develop machining strategies, setups, tooling, and fixturing for multi-axis operations.
- Use Vericut or similar simulation tools to verify programs and prevent collisions, gouges, and other issues.
- Create clear setup sheets and operator instructions.
- Troubleshoot and improve programs based on first-article inspections, shop-floor feedback, and testing.
- Work closely with manufacturing engineering, planning, tooling, and machine operators to improve cycle time, quality, and producibility .
- Maintain program revisions and documentation in accordance with company requirements.
- For senior-level roles, lead complex tooling/fixture development and machining strategies.
What You’ll Need
- 7+ years of NC programming experience in production machining or equivalent experience.
- Strong 3- and 5-axis CNC programming experience, preferably in aerospace.
- Proficiency with CATIA V5 NC programming and Vericut .
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation .
- Experience creating setup sheets, tooling plans, and operator instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to work 2nd shift as required.
