Position: Cook
Location: Queens, New York
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Full-Time & Part-Time Available)
Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
Cypress Garden Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a reliable and skilled Cook to join our dietary team. The ideal candidate is fast-paced, detail-oriented, and passionate about preparing quality meals in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:Prepare meals for residents and staff in accordance with recipes, production sheets, and scheduled meal times
Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and storage guidelines
Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure compliance with safety standards
Keep kitchen areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking effectively
Ability to cook and prepare meals independently
Strong knife skills and knowledge of proper food handling techniques
Ability to read and communicate in English
Knowledge of safe food temperatures and sanitation standards
Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
Minimum of 1 year cooking experience in a skilled nursing facility or hospital setting (preferred)
Experience preparing meals in large quantities
Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
Understanding of infection control procedures
