GHSP, a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems for the automotive, transportation, and appliance industries, is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to join our team in Holland, Michigan.

This is a highly visible role that combines engineering, quality, supplier development, and global collaboration. You'll partner directly with suppliers and cross-functional teams to develop robust manufacturing processes, improve quality, reduce risk, and help ensure successful product launches.

We're especially interested in engineers with automotive supplier quality or supplier development experience, particularly those with an electronics manufacturing background.

What You'll Do

As a Supplier Development Engineer, you'll own supplier development activities from new product launch through production, helping suppliers succeed while protecting GHSP's quality, delivery, and business objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop production suppliers to meet expectations for quality, delivery, and performance.
• Partner with suppliers to improve manufacturing capability and promote Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Lead supplier APQP and PPAP activities in accordance with AIAG standards and GHSP's Product Development Process.
• Support suppliers through launch and SOP +90 while driving continuous improvement and incorporating lessons learned.
• Perform supplier process audits and new supplier assessments.
• Partner with plant quality teams to resolve complex supplier quality issues using effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve quality, delivery, and operational excellence.
• Identify supplier risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure a stable, resilient supply base.
• Prioritize work based on business impact, timing, and customer needs.
• Travel approximately 50% to supplier and GHSP locations throughout North America, with occasional international travel, building strong supplier partnerships and solving manufacturing challenges firsthand.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for engineers who enjoy collaboration, continuous improvement, and solving technical challenges.

Qualified candidates will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of experience in automotive supplier quality, supplier development, manufacturing quality, or a related engineering role.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, blueprint reading, Lean Manufacturing, and IATF 16949 quality principles.
• Electronics manufacturing or supplier quality experience strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or similar certification is a plus.
