Job Description:

This position reports to the Clinical Education Department Manager. The Clinical Staff Educator provides education and instruction for clinical staff, acts as a resource to all staff regarding healthcare education and training programs, and supports the development of education with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators. The Clinical Staff Educator works closely with the Quality Management team to promote continuous improvement, introduces technical and theoretical concepts in teaching techniques, and assists with Quality Department activities as requested.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of duties, often changing tasks without loss of efficiency or composure.
• Accept responsibility for directing, controlling, and planning activities.
• Evaluate programs and participant learning; make appropriate changes as needed.
• Communicate effectively and convey empathy and compassion.
• Participate in required education for DNV programs applicable to the position.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing required, or equivalent experience with commitment to obtain within 3 years.
• Current Oregon RN license. CPR, CNOR, ACLS, and PALS certified.
• Minimum of 5 years hospital nursing experience and 3 years of OR experience required.
• Proficiency in word processing, internet use, and Microsoft Office.
• Type a minimum speed of 45 WPM accurately.
