Position Summary

The Accessioner I receives, verifies, and processes laboratory specimens to support accurate clinical testing and patient care. This role ensures proper specimen handling, documentation, and data entry while maintaining laboratory quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and accession blood, urine, and tissue specimens.

• Verify specimen identification and documentation for accuracy.

• Enter and maintain patient and specimen data in LIMS.

• Prepare and organize samples for testing.

• Perform quality checks and support regulatory compliance.

• Follow laboratory safety and specimen-handling procedures.

• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 0-2 years of laboratory, healthcare, or related experience.

• Strong attention to detail, data entry, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Comfortable handling biological specimens.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field.

• Laboratory assistant or specimen processing experience.

• Familiarity with LIMS systems.

Work Environment Overnight shift in a clinical laboratory setting with frequent computer use, specimen handling, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
