Job Title: HR and Professional Services Sourcing Director Employment Type: Full-Time Location: In-Office (Chicago) Job Summary We are looking for an HR/Professional Services Sourcing Director to join a team focused on delivering maximum value to internal stakeholders through effective, centralized delivery of sourcing and procurement services. The role works closely with Argo's Head of HR, leadership teams, and organizational stakeholders to identify areas where procurement can improve value for money and reduce risk. Responsibilities include driving sourcing and procurement activities, leveraging market intelligence, reducing costs, improving supplier delivery, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Essential Responsibilities Independently performs a variety of complex sourcing and procurement activities to deliver value, cost savings, and risk mitigation. Leads the development of HR and Professional Services category management strategies to improve total cost of ownership. Negotiates complex vendor contracts and monitors contract compliance to ensure terms and expected value are delivered. Analyzes purchasing patterns, defines priorities, and develops opportunities for cost savings, demand management, and risk mitigation. Researches industry trends, investigates target suppliers, and develops category strategies. Develops and initiates complex requests for proposal documents, reviews supplier proposals, makes recommendations, issues awards, and negotiates contracts. Collaborates with HR, business, and operational leads to develop strategic sourcing initiatives and oversees implementation of key priorities. Manages key strategic relationships and resolves vendor disputes. Ensures compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements. Advocates procurement procedures, recommends changes and improvements, and ensures high-quality centralized sourcing services. Monitors procurement systems and recommends upgrades and changes. Analyzes procurement data sources, develops spend trend analysis, and reports key metrics to stakeholders. Supports other category management strategies and provides sourcing expertise when needed. Qualifications / Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field. 10+ years of professional experience in a strategic sourcing role, with extensive experience in HR and Professional Services category management for a publicly traded company. Experience developing category and supplier strategies. Proficiency with procurement market intelligence tools. Experience in executive management reporting. Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Knowledge of P2P processes, category management, and key procurement best practices. Knowledge of US/EU regulations impacting procurement and contracting, including data privacy laws. Financial acumen and data analytics skills (Excel, PowerBI, Qlik). Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives with strong prioritization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access). Good judgment safeguarding confidential information. Ability to work independently and seek support when needed. Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications such as CPP, CIPS, SPSM, or CSCP. Experience in other sourcing categories. Insurance industry knowledge and experience. Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this role in Chicago is $120,870 – $166,158, commensurate with experience. Candidates may also be eligible for annual bonuses based on company and individual performance, and a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
