Regional Philanthropy at the University of Oregon plays a criticalrole in expanding the university's reach and impact beyond campusby building meaningful relationships with alumni and donors acrosskey geographic markets. Through a regionally focused approach, theteam connects donors to opportunities that support student success,scholarships, academic programs, and university-wide priorities. Bypartnering closely with campus leadership and advancementcolleagues, Regional Philanthropy drives engagement andphilanthropic investment that strengthens the university's presenceand impact across the Northwest and Southwest regions. Position Summary As the Director of Development, Regional Philanthropy (Northwest& Southwest States), you will play a key role in expanding the University of Oregon's philanthropic reach across a diverse andgeographically dispersed region. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, focusing on gifts in the $100K-$999K range, and lead all aspects of the donor lifecycle -from identification and qualification to cultivation, solicitation,and stewardship. You will be responsible for developing and executing a regional fundraising strategy, partnering closely with colleagues across University Advancement and academic units to align donor interests with institutional priorities. As a highly external-facing role, you will spend time travelingthroughout your assigned region to build relationships, advancedonor conversations, and represent the university. You willcollaborate closely with regional teammates, central development,and campus partners to coordinate outreach and maximize engagementopportunities. This role is ideal for a proactive fundraiser who enjoys autonomy,thrives in a fast-paced and relationship-focused environment, andis motivated by building connections across a broad region. Youwill contribute to regional strategy while personally drivingresults and helping grow a strong pipeline of major giftdonors. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education andexperience. Three years of professional fundraising experience or fiveyears related experience (e.g., sales, business development) Professional Competencies Demonstrated success building relationships and closing majorgifts or equivalent high-value deals Strong portfolio management skills, including prioritizationand strategic planning Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to engage diverse audiences Ability to work collaboratively across teams and navigate acomplex organization Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Willingness and ability to travel frequently Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education fundraising Experience working with volunteer boards or advisorygroups Benefits The University of Oregon is proud to offer a robust benefitspackage to eligible employees, including health insurance,retirement plans, and paid time off.
