Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Grand Island, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Labor and Delivery (L&D) Department Nurse in a healthcare facility. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-acuity obstetrics setting, supporting laboring and postpartum patients, and ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines. The role requires delivering quality care consistent with established protocols and patient safety standards. Job Details Location: This is a Labor and Delivery Department Nurse role at the healthcare facility. Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); minimum 3 years of labor and delivery experience. Experience: 0 years minimum required. Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, working 36 hours per week. Additional Information: The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 for laboring patients and 1:1 for intensive cases, following AWHONN guidelines. The department cares for obstetrics, postpartum, antepartum, post-surgical GYN, and patients with pregnancy-related conditions such as hypertension or diabetes. RNs may be required to titrate drips including Pitocin, Mag, and Procardia; no floating unless critical staffing demands it. The unit is equipped with telemonitoring, and nurses are responsible for reading their own strips. Orientation includes one week of classroom training followed by 2-3 shifts on the floor. Submission Requirements: Active license to submit. Shifts & Scheduling: 12-hour night shifts, with the manager completing the schedule. Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday, with additional holiday coverage as needed. RTO (Request for Time Off): RTO needed upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved.
