Capital Projects Supervisor (Capital Project Manager IV) – King County Water and Land Resources Division (WLRD) About the Role Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering flood risk reduction projects in the Green River Basin. Manage the team’s project portfolio and support multiple complex, politically visible capital projects from initiation through closeout. Coordinate with the River and Floodplain Management Section, WLRD management, Flood Control District staff, and elected officials. What You Will Be Doing Provide direct supervision, technical oversight, and quality control to an interdisciplinary team. Direct personnel in the planning, design, and construction of river and floodplain management projects. Ensure compliance with the WLR Project Management Manual in all project phases. Assist in developing and implementing workflow processes for consistent delivery. Apply principles of Equity and Social Justice in stakeholder engagement. Collaborate with colleagues to plan annual capital projects and budgets. Manage complex, politically visible issues requiring coordination with senior management and elected officials. Participate in flood warning and emergency response programs. Qualifications You Bring Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources, environmental science, natural resource management, urban/regional planning, or equivalent education and experience. Demonstrated experience managing the work of others, including scheduling, reviewing products, training, and oversight. Experience as a supervisor, project representative, or project manager on large-scale public works contracts. Ability to work within an organization to address policy, process, and people dynamics. It Would Be Great if You Also Bring Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Washington, or ability to obtain within one year. Master’s degree in a related field. Advanced knowledge of hydrologic and open-channel hydraulic principles. Growth mindset and sense of humor. Working Conditions Hybrid model: office, telecommuting, and project sites. Remote work requires residential proximity to a King County worksite. Full-time, 40-hour work week (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday). May require outside normal hours for emergency response.
