Sr Software Test Engineer, Space Systems

Salary: $111,500 - 207,500 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related discipline with at least 6 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience, or 10 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• You must be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
• You should have hands-on experience with one or more of these tools and environments: LabVIEW, Python, COSMOS, MATLAB, or Simulink.
• You need experience with space-based payloads, aerospace systems, or other highly dependable mission-critical platforms.
• You should bring 3+ years of hardware/software integration and test experience, including building tools for checkout and verification.
• You need practical experience troubleshooting and debugging in a laboratory or integration setting.
• Preferred strengths include an active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance, familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Confluence, and working knowledge of imaging sensors, servo mechanisms, actuators, and focus systems.
• Additional advantages include experience with automated test equipment, instrumentation interfaces, data logging, results analysis, structured test documentation, and testing at multiple assembly levels.

• We partner with SEIT and development teams to define, refine, and document test set software requirements that support verification, checkout, and compliance efforts.
• We design, develop, and maintain test software applications in LabVIEW and/or Python for hardware checkout, functional verification, and compliance testing.
• We support testing across module, subsystem, and full payload integration and verification stages.
• We create automated test sequences, data collection utilities, and analysis tools to improve efficiency, repeatability, and traceability.
• We help plan and execute verification and validation activities to confirm technical, performance, and compliance requirements are met.
• We coordinate with systems, hardware, software, and integration/test engineers to keep test solutions aligned with changing program needs.
• We troubleshoot test anomalies, investigate failures, and support root cause analysis during development and integration.
• We prepare test documentation, procedures, reports, and configuration-controlled artifacts for program reviews and product acceptance.
• We contribute in a small, highly collaborative team, sharing design, development, test execution, and issue-resolution responsibilities.
