Job Summary The Project Land Surveyor/Manager in Princeton, NJ serves as a key leader in surveying, mapping, and geospatial projects. The role involves participating in planning, managing staff, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring quality and compliance in all survey work. Job Responsibilities Assist discipline leadership with planning, implementation, and production of land surveying deliverables. Oversee and manage staff for specific project assignments, supervising field work. Coordinate staff to prepare and modify field work scope, data, reductions, and final deliverables based on analysis. Write, review, and produce drafting, CAD files, survey maps, proposals, written descriptions, and reports. Plan schedules, develop tasks and budgets, prepare progress reports, and draft change orders. Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines; prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in collections. Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess project needs and approach. Assist with office tasks such as CAD drafting, data download, deed and map research, and filing. Collect field data using surveying equipment and software when necessary. Assist in recovery of survey control, monumentation, construction layout, invert and subsurface utility data, and photo documentation. Perform additional duties as requested. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Over 5 years of field and office surveying experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson software; excellent computer skills. State survey license required or ability to obtain one. Experience in proposal preparation and job estimates. Ability to perform complex boundary analysis and maintain quality control. Proven ability to manage multiple staff and meet deadlines. Strong teamwork skills across all levels of management and staff. Attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willingness and ability to travel to the field as necessary.
