Travel RN – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | Alternating Weekends | Start Time: 6:45 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity)
• Titrate vesicant medications and manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Operate and monitor ventilators, perform tracheostomy care, and interpret telemetry
• Assess and manage hemodynamics including PA catheter setup and interpretation, and transvenous pacing
• Support bedside procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
• Document all patient care activities using Cerner; float to other areas per unit policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Proficiency in titration of vesicant medications and familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Experience with mechanical ventilators and tracheostomy care
• Competency in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Ability to adhere to required scrub uniform colors (all navy or navy and white; no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT
• Familiarity with hypothermia protocols and CRRT equipment
• CCRN certification or IABP/Impella/CRRT certifications
• Prior experience with Cerner documentation system
