Piping InspectorInspection & VerificationPerform in-process and final inspections of fabricated piping, welds, and assembliesVerify fabricated products, materials, dimensions, and configurations against isometric drawings, spool sheets, and BOMsEnsure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.9, and Section IX)Confirm proper labeling, tagging, and traceability of materials and assembliesWelding & Fabrication QualityInspect weld quality per visual inspection standards (AWS D10.4 or applicable code)Verify weld procedures and welder qualifications are current and compliantIdentify and document (product) defects or non-conformancesDocumentation & ReportingComplete inspection reports, checklists, and quality documentation accurately and timelyTrack and log non-conformance reports (NCRs) and assist with corrective actionsSupport digital tracking of fabrication progress and quality metrics (e.g., Stratus, Power BI)Process ImprovementWork with fabrication and project teams to identify root causes of quality issuesRecommend process improvements to reduce rework and increase efficiencyAssist in developing and refining QA/QC procedures and inspection checkpointsMaterial & Equipment VerificationInspect incoming materials and equipment for compliance with specificationsEnsure proper handling, storage, and protection of materialsVerify that items designated as "ship loose" or pre-assembled are properly identified and handledCollaborationCoordinate with Project Coordinators, VDC/BIM teams, and shop personnel to clarify drawings and expectationsParticipate in fabrication kickoff meetings to align on quality expectationsCommunicate quality issues clearly and professionally to all stakeholdersQualificationsRequiredStrong understanding of mechanical piping systems (carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC)Ability to read and interpret drawings, isometrics, and specificationsKnowledge of ASME piping codes and welding standardsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsPreferredAWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or working toward certificationExperience with digital fabrication tools (e.g., Stratus, BIM/Revit)Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systemsExperience in a fabrication shop or industrial construction environmentAll other duties as assignedKey SkillsDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilityEffective communication and teamworkAbility to hold quality standards without compromising production flowProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with reporting tools is a plusAble to maintain organization of documentation as well as materials and productsPerformance MetricsReduction in rework and punch list itemsAccuracy of inspections and documentationCompliance with project specifications and codesTimeliness of inspections relative to production schedulesWork EnvironmentPrimarily shop-based with exposure to fabrication equipment and active work areasMay require standing, walking, and inspecting materials for extended periodsOccasional lifting and use of inspection tools/equipmentEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
