Account Executive – Oil & Gas
The Account Executive – Oil & Gas is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding CST's presence within the oil and gas market. Based in Conroe, Texas, this position reports directly to the Director of Sales and plays a key role in developing strategic customer and partner relationships that support long-term business growth.
This role is focused on business development within the oil and gas industry, with a strong emphasis on building relationships with tank manufacturers and other relevant manufacturers to increase product adoption and market share. The Account Executive will also serve as the primary point of contact for CST's exclusive reseller agreement with DIRECTANK, providing direct oversight of the partnership and associated representative activities to ensure alignment with company goals and growth objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong commercial background, proven experience in sales and business development, and the strategic ability to identify, develop, and grow opportunities through both direct and channel-based sales approaches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies to support growth within the oil and gas industry.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with tank manufacturers, industrial manufacturers, owners, operators, EPC firms, and other strategic partners.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to support short- and long-term sales objectives.
- Proactively engage the market to expand CST's customer base and increase product visibility.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify areas for growth and improvement.
Partnership and Channel Management
- Serve as the primary commercial lead for CST's exclusive reseller agreement with DIRECTANK in the oil and gas market.
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with DIRECTANK and associated representative resources to ensure strong communication, accountability, and performance.
- Collaborate with channel partners to identify new opportunities, support pipeline development, and strengthen market coverage.
- Foster productive relationships with tank manufacturers and other key partners that support CST's growth strategy.
- Conduct regular business reviews and maintain alignment between partner activity and company objectives.
Sales and Account Management
- Manage the sales process from opportunity development through proposal coordination, negotiation, and close.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and leadership, to support solution development and customer needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely sales activity, pipeline updates, and forecasts in Salesforce or other designated CRM systems.
- Support commercial planning and customer follow-up to improve win rates and drive customer satisfaction.
Market Representation
- Represent CST professionally in the oil and gas market through customer meetings, partner engagement, and industry events.
- Promote CST's value proposition and support initiatives that strengthen the company's market position.
- Participate in trade shows, industry associations, and other business development activities as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales, business development, or account management experience within the oil and gas or industrial manufacturing industry.
- Experience working with tank manufacturers, storage tank systems, or related industrial products strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing business through channel partners, strategic accounts, or manufacturer relationships.
- Experience managing reseller agreements, representative networks, or strategic partnerships preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong business development and relationship management skills.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
- Excellent verbal, written, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while also collaborating across functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 50–60% as needed for customer visits, partner meetings, and industry events.
Work Environment
This position is based in Conroe, Texas but is remote and operates in a professional business environment with regular interaction with customers, channel partners, and internal teams. The role requires a combination of office-based work, travel, and in-person engagement within the oil and gas market.
