About the Role

Stellar Synergy is recruiting a General Manager, Trades Staffing for a growing commercial construction labor staffing company in Miami. Our client places skilled tradespeople — drywall, concrete, carpentry, and general commercial trades — on commercial and federal projects across multiple markets and is scaling toward a field workforce of a thousand active trade workers. We are hiring a general manager to run the operation: the recruiting engine, the field coordination team, and the field workforce.

This is not a training role. Our client is looking for someone who has already run this — operations and recruiting inside a trades or construction labor staffing company, or internal recruitment and field operations for a self-performing general contractor. You know how this business runs because you have run it.

What You Will Own

• Day-to-day operations of the staffing business, end to end: recruiting, field coordination, deployment, and retention.

• A team of recruiters and field coordinators, with clear hiring, coaching, and accountability standards.

• Fill rate performance and time-to-deploy across the trades.

• Building the recruiting function itself: hiring recruiters, setting standards, and holding the team to a production number.

• On-site and client-embedded programs where our client manages a resident workforce at a customer location.

• Workforce time and attendance system adoption and compliance.

• Safety compliance across the field workforce.

• Scaling the operation toward a workforce of a thousand, and supporting new markets and divisions as our client expands.

Non-Negotiables

• Direct experience running a labor staffing operation: a construction or trades staffing company, or high-volume commercial or industrial staffing with on-site program experience, or internal recruitment and field operations for a self-performing general contractor.

• On-site or vendor-on-premise program experience — you have run a resident workforce at a client location and carried fill rate accountability at their gate.

• P&L ownership. You have carried a book and can speak to gross margin, bill and pay spread, and branch or division profitability. Operations experience without a number attached to it is not the same thing.

• You have built and trained a recruiting function, not just inherited one. Hiring recruiters, setting their standards, and holding them to production.

• Start-up or new market experience: you have opened a branch, division, or on-site program from zero rather than only running an established one.

• Fluent bilingual — English and Spanish. Required, not preferred. Most of the field workforce is Spanish-speaking and most clients are English-speaking; you will operate in both every day.

• A track record of hitting fill rate, retention, or workforce growth numbers you can speak to specifically in an interview.

Preferred

• Experience scaling a staffing operation across more than one market or state.

• Construction trades depth — drywall, concrete, carpentry, or Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing sufficient to judge crew quality and talk credibly with superintendents.

• Familiarity with electrical and MEP trades staffing.

• Experience managing a book of $20+ million or more in revenue.

• Familiarity with field workforce systems: time tracking, onboarding, and compliance.

Location and Travel

Based in the Miami office, on-site. Travel of roughly 10 to 20 percent to support other markets and expanding divisions.
