Safety specialist

Randstad has partnered with a premier industrial manufacturing facility in Georgetown, KY, to recruit a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety & Health Specialist. Reporting directly to the EHS Manager, this role is key to driving a zero-accident culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous improvement toward world-class safety practices. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitve salary and benefits package.


salary: $55,000 - $60,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations within a heavy manufacturing environment (including OSHA 29 CFR 1910, KY OSH, and KRS).
• Conduct routine facility audits to evaluate safety practices, report findings to management, and implement corrective recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records for regulatory documentation, safety audits, inspections, and required employee training logs.
• Maintain and help update the company safety manual, SDS database, and hazard communication programs.
• Educate, motivate, and train team members on safety best practices, rules, and procedures.
• Organize and conduct safety orientations for new hires, as well as required annual refresher trainings.
• Proactively identify and correct unsafe behaviors or conditions on the production floor.
• Participate in and conduct incident and root-cause accident investigations.
• Assist in developing plant programs focused on identifying, preventing, and controlling workplace injuries and illnesses.
• Maintain technical program knowledge across key areas: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Ergonomics, Machine Guarding, Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Overhead Cranes, Powered Industrial Trucks, and First Aid.
• Cross-train with the Environmental Specialist to share department responsibilities and provide coverage as needed.
