Maintenance Tech 1

MAINTENANCE TECH - 1st or 3rd SHIFT HEBRON, OH - HEBRON PLANT As a member of the maintenance department, the Maintenance Tech will be responsible for repairs and maintaining equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment. The Role Your work will include, but not be limited to: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned). Observes mechanical devices in operation and diagnoses malfunctions. Makes approved modifications to machinery and equipment to meet production needs. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Lubricates and cleans parts. Keeps accurate preventative maintenance records and records revisions to equipment and tools. Installs new machinery and equipment as directed. Observes and follows company rules and policies. Assists in maintaining safe work areas. Follows lockout/tagout safety procedures. Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical skills: Technician will have the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning ability: Technician will have ability to work with minimum supervision; will be able to follow written and verbal instruction, troubleshoot an issue or problem, and develop corrective action. Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Employee must be able to recognize situation and take proper precautionary measures and utilize PPE when necessary. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proof of ability: Technician candidates are required to provide proof that they can perform the duties listed either in the form of certificates, training, testing, or performing work. If performing of work is necessary, qualified personnel (maintenance technicians, maintenance supervisor, and department manager) will determine integrity of work.
