Role Description The Credit Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chattanooga, TN. This role is responsible for evaluating credit applications, analyzing financial information, and determining appropriate credit limits and structures in line with bank policy and regulatory requirements. The Credit Officer reviews and monitors existing loan portfolios, identifies risks, and recommends actions to maintain credit quality. Day-to-day tasks include preparing credit memoranda, collaborating with relationship managers and other banking teams, communicating credit decisions to internal stakeholders, and ensuring timely documentation and compliance. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of credit standards, industry trends, and relevant regulations to support sound lending practices. Qualifications Strong credit management and credit analysis skills, with the ability to assess borrower risk and structure appropriate credit solutions. Proficient analytical skills and finance knowledge to interpret financial statements, cash flow, and collateral valuations. Effective communication skills to present credit recommendations clearly and collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders. Experience in commercial or consumer lending, banking, or financial services is highly beneficial. Knowledge of banking regulations, credit policies, and risk management practices. High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple credit requests and deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
