General Counsel

Core Responsibilities
- Regulatory & Healthcare Compliance: Ensure company policies and clinical procedures adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and state dental board regulations. Lead internal compliance programs and audits.
- Corporate Governance: Advise the Board of Directors and executive leadership on governance, risk management, and strategic entity structuring.
- Employment & Provider Law: Manage multi-state workforce issues, including clinical licensing requirements, provider employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and HR compliance.
- Commercial Transactions: Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts, supplier agreements, and real estate leases for dental practices. Support mergers, acquisitions (M&A), and financing.
- Risk & Litigation Management: Oversee professional liability (malpractice) claims, regulatory investigations, and general corporate litigation in coordination with outside counsel.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensing: Active and in good standing with a state bar, with the ability to qualify for authorized in-house counsel status in the required state.
- Experience: Typically 10+ years of legal experience, with a heavy preference for background in healthcare, dental practice management, or multi-site clinical organizations.
- Skills: Strong business acumen, executive presence, and the ability to balance rigorous legal compliance with operational growth
