Accounting / Bookkeeper

Kappo Masa is seeking a full-time, on-site Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for accurate financial record keeping, accounts payable, reconciliations, and payroll support, while acting as a key liaison between restaurant operations and the accounting function. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role best suited for someone with restaurant accounting experience who is comfortable working closely with operators and managing high-volume transactional workflows. Transaction Processing & Recordkeeping Record daily financial transactions across multiple entities with accuracy and timeliness Maintain general ledger integrity, including proper coding of expenses and vendor classification Enter and reconcile daily sales journals from POS systems Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records and documentation Process invoices and manage full-cycle accounts payable Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Maintain and support vendor relationships, including communication on payments and issues Track and manage recurring expenses and payment schedules Banking & Reconciliations Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations Monitor cash activity, including petty cash tracking and audits Identify and elevate discrepancies or irregularities Payroll & Operational Support Support payroll processing, including data validation and coordination with payroll providers Partner with restaurant managers to ensure accurate reporting and documentation Assist with operational accounting needs across locations Reporting & Compliance Support Assist in preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules Ensure adherence to internal accounting standards and procedures Support external accountants by maintaining clean, accurate data for audits and tax filings Qualifications Required 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in restaurants or hospitality Proficiency in QuickBooks (required) Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping High attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments Ability to work on-site and collaborate with operations teams Preferred Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience supporting multi-unit or multi-entity businesses Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant financial workflows Strong organizational and follow-through skills Ability to manage multiple priorities across entities Clear communication with both accounting and operations teams Problem-solving mindset with ability to identify discrepancies quickly Key Competencies Strong organizational and follow-through skills Ability to manage multiple priorities across entities Clear communication with both accounting and operations teams Problem-solving mindset with ability to identify discrepancies quickly Working Conditions On-site role within a restaurant and office environment Frequent computer and administrative work Occasional interaction with restaurant operations and storage/warehouse areas Masa Restaurant Group is dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace environment where all individuals have equal opportunities.
