Principal, Business Consulting - Commercial Lending (Banking)

As a Principal, you will lead teams that execute strategic programs tackling complex, industry‑specific challenges while further deepening your knowledge in your area of specialization. You will work directly and closely with clients, building relationships with business and technology leaders in the Lending space, and collaborating with top Fortune 500 financial institutions to envision new products, define domain blueprints and roadmaps, redesign experiences and processes, monetize data, modernize payments infrastructure, and drive innovation.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry, with a strong background in commercial lending, syndication, and loan trading.
• Hands‑on expertise guiding Loan IQ integration projects, driving business and IT workshops, and collaborating with teams to deliver tailored solutions for client requirements. Ability to lead functional analysis, document requirements, and ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance standards.
• Expertise in Commercial Lending and Syndication.
• Proven track record as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, and Subject Matter Expert in Loan IQ implementations, migrations, and integrations.
• Solid understanding of Loan IQ functionalities, Loan Operations/Servicing, and fit‑for‑purpose platform usage.
• Ability to lead and drive business and IT workshops, crafting solutions in coordination with teams.
• Proficiency in writing effective Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification documentation / user stories.
• High analytical and solution‑design skills to assess and address customer requirements.
• Must be NY/NJ based or willing to relocate to that area.
• Willingness to travel as needed (typically up to 4 days per week) to client locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
• Hands‑on experience delivering business/product transformation initiatives in banking.
• Working knowledge of Design Thinking.
• Additional qualifications that are nice to have: business/product transformation experience, Design Thinking knowledge, and industry certifications.

The estimated annual total compensation (base + bonus) range for candidates based in CA, IL, NJ, WA, and NY will be $154,375 to $193,125.
